To all football fans out there we have great news from Bucharest: the city is hosting not one, not two but four Euro 2020 games this June! Therefore chances are you will be able to see your favourite team playing at Bucharest National Arena if you buy your tickets in advance here : ttps://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/ticketing/#/

The games are scheduled as follows: June 14th, 18th and 22nd – C group games and June 29th quarter final game. Save the dates!

If you don’t manage to secure tickets, there are plenty of places in the city to watch the fun, including outdoor spaces. Local authorities have announced that Constitution Square – just in front of the largest administrative building in the world and Unirii Boulevard will be the city’s main outdoor viewing locations, hosting the Fan Zone and Sports Village respectively.

If you fancy dinner while you watch the game, Bucharest has an array of amazing restaurants that will screen matches both in the Old Town and in the city’s malls as well. Here are some of our personal favourites and recommendations for their cheerful atmosphere and glee: Infusion Sports Bar and Bistro, Stadio, Hop Garden, Champions Sports Bar and St Patrick’s Pub.

So please, book your flight, buy your Euro 2020 ticket and come meet us in Bucharest. Our tours will give you an insight into local life and a chance to celebrate with the locals!

Here are the Bucharest Urban Adventures team’s favourite 5 sports bars to watch the beautiful game…

Stadio

Stadio is a favourite hang-out with locals, especially for sporting events. The cheerful atmosphere and the cool design, somewhere between an Italian restaurant and a British pub, with industrial touches makes this place a great place to watch sport events.

Address: Ion Campineanu 11, Bucharest.

St. Patrick

Located in Bucharest’s bustling Old City centre, St Patrick is a cosy Irish bar famous for its beer and big plates of nachos. The bar has several floors, and you can watch your favourite team on all of them. However, #localsknow the bridge room on the underground level is the coolest. Strada Smârdan 23-25, Bucharest.

Champions

Broadcasting sports events and games every single day, Champions has to be one of the best places to watch the World Cup in Bucharest. And probably  one of the fanciest, as it’s located inside the JW Marriott hotel.

(Don’t worry, it’s still super casual and budget-friendly.) They have 27-inch TV plasma screens to make the whole experience of watching your favourite team even more enjoyable.

Address: JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel Calea 13 Septembrie 90, Bucharest.

Halftime

Just like St. Patrick, Halftime is also located in the Old City centre, a famous gathering place for the most passionate supporters. The atmosphere is like one in a real stadium, with anthem singing and all. Halftime is light on food, but compensates with cheap beer.

Address: 14, Gabroveni Street, Bucharest

InFusion Sports Bar

Located in downtown Bucharest, very close to University Square, InFusion Sports Bar features a lot of TV screens and is always packed with people who are into sports. The bar also has a great variety of bottled and draught beer, as well as super tasty bites.

Address: Strada Ion Ghica nr.2, Bucharest
