The newest and trendiest vegetarian restaurants in Paris

Eating vegetarian can be quite a pleasant experience in Paris despite all the fois gras, steak and frites, and magret de canard (duck breast) this city is known for. Indeed, Paris boasts a wide range of vegetarian, organic, and even gluten-free cuisine. If you’re looking for good meal sans meat, here are my tips on where to find the latest hip and trendy vegetarian restaurants in Paris.

Soya Cantine Bio

Soya Cantine Bio

Located near the heart of Paris, the dim lighting and minimalist décor at Soya Cantine Bio offers the perfect setting for a date or a nice chat with friends. From the starters to the curries, the plates are filling, colourful, delicious, and will not leave you disappointed. Split into two different rooms, the places offers plenty of space even for large parties to enjoy and appreciate this beautiful venue.

Café Pinson

Cafe Pinson

If you’re looking for a nice, cosy ambiance with your meal, then head to Café Pinson. Have a cup of tea and try one of their many vegan desserts, or stay for dinner. You can even bring your laptop and get a bit of work done. The eclectic décor and comfortable seats combined with the open kitchen make this place very inviting, and on top of everything else it’s completely vegan!  I recommend the risotto mixed with spinach pesto and green apple slices, a combination that proved to be a real treat. A note of caution: they don’t take reservations so arrive early as the place fills up fast.

Hank Vegan Burger

Hank Vegan Burger

This small fast-food hub located in the heart of the Marais is a favourite among tourists and locals alike. With their selection of new, innovative vegan burgers, it’s no surprise why. For example, the ‘Tata Monique’ is topped with tomato sauce, basil, and black olives. The décor gives off a clear New York hipster vibe with its wooden tables and stools to sit on, but I would recommend taking your vegan burger to go since the lack of room inside and the low seats can make it slightly uncomfortable. However, if you’re looking for tasty, original vegetarian fast-food, you should definitely add Hank’s to your must-eat list.

Le Tricycle

La Tricycle

After the vegan burger comes the vegan hot dog, courtesy of Le Tricycle in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Set up on two levels with the kitchen below and a small but open area on top, you can either take your food to go or stay for a while and enjoy your meal on the upper level. The soft Jamaican music playing in the background adds a real Rastafari vibe. My personal favourite is the Doctor Dre, which is a hot dog topped with guacamole and fried onions. Yum!

So Nat

So Nat Paris

This quaint little lunch canteen specialises in the Buddha Bowl, a large bowl filled with the best organic vegetarian ingredients put together in fun, new, and surprising ways. It’s even possible to create your own bowl! The distressed walls, wooden tables, and hanging potted plants all combine to create a very natural, relaxed, modern ambiance. Stop in for lunch during the week, or on Saturdays for their special brunch. Their vegan and vegetarian options are sure to make your mouth water.
